Su Shi (art name Dongpo, 1037 - 1101) , was a Chinese poet, writer, politician, calligrapher, painter, pharmacologist, and gastronome of the Song dynasty. An anchor figure of the Song era,  Su Shi is widely regarded as one of the Eight Greatest Minds of the Tang and Song Dynasties. With his poems, prose, and essays, he has made an unparalleled contribution to the heritage of Chinese language and literature.
